Episode 17: The Hard Truth About Leadership It’s Not About Position, It’s About Posture

Leadership is one of those topics people love to talk about, but not everyone wants to be honest about.

Many people want the title.
The platform.
The microphone.
The influence.
The authority.
The respect.
The recognition.

But not everyone wants the posture required to lead well.

In Episode 17 of Hard Truth Talk, Jaynee Sasso has a wise, faith-grounded, and convicting conversation about biblical leadership, humility, service, character, obedience, stewardship, and the posture of the heart before God.

The core message is this:

Real leadership is not proven by a title, platform, position, or public recognition. Real leadership is revealed through humility, service, obedience, character, sacrifice, and the posture of the heart before God.

Culture often defines leadership by visibility, power, charisma, influence, and control.

But God defines leadership differently.

God looks at humility.
God looks at obedience.
God looks at stewardship.
God looks at service.
God looks at the condition of the heart.

A title can place you in front of people, but only posture determines whether God can trust you to lead them well.

In this episode, Jaynee discusses:

  • Why leadership is not about position first

  • Why leadership begins with posture

  • Why God looks at the heart, not the image

  • The difference between position and posture

  • Why a title does not make someone trustworthy

  • How leadership exposes what is already in the heart

  • Why gifted does not always mean governed

  • Why fruit reveals maturity

  • Why servant leadership is not weakness

  • How Jesus modeled leadership through humility and service

  • Why some people want the platform but not the process

  • Why hidden seasons and small beginnings matter

  • How pride turns leadership into control

  • Why leadership without humility creates fear, performance, and silence

  • What kind of leader God can trust

  • Why influence is not ownership

  • Why authority is accountability

  • Why every leader should ask God to search their heart

This episode challenges anyone who leads in any capacity in the home, church, business, ministry, family, community, or online platform to ask deeper questions.

Do I want to lead, or do I just want to be seen?
Do I want to serve, or do I want to control?
Do I want responsibility, or just recognition?
Do I want God’s will, or do I want my name elevated?
Do I want the title, or do I have the posture?

The hard truth is this:

Leadership is not about being elevated. It is about being entrusted.

Before you ask God to promote you, ask Him to prepare you.

Before you ask for more influence, ask Him to purify your motives.

Before you ask to lead more people, ask Him to teach you how to serve the people already in front of you.

Because the leader God can trust is not the one obsessed with position.

It is the one surrendered in posture.
