Episode 21: The Hard Truth About Walking Through Difficult Times

What do you do when life does not go according to plan?

In this episode of Hard Truth Talk, I share how difficult seasons challenged my belief that if I did everything “right,” I could control the outcome of my life. I had to learn the difference between religion built around control and a real relationship with God built on trust, surrender, obedience, and wisdom.

We talk about how to discern why you are in a hard season, because not every battle has the same cause. Some struggles are consequences of our own choices. Some come from ignoring wisdom or resisting God’s direction. Some are part of living in a broken world. And some seasons become a refining fire that God uses to strengthen our faith, character, and discernment.

In this episode, we unpack how to:

  • surrender what you cannot control

  • seek God for strategy instead of reacting in panic

  • take personal accountability without condemnation

  • recognize patterns and learn from mistakes

  • use prayer, Scripture, fasting, wisdom, and accountability

  • build spiritual stability before the crisis

  • ask better questions in hard seasons

  • redefine what victory really looks like

The goal is not just to get out of the battle.

The goal is to come through it with greater wisdom, stronger faith, deeper discernment, stronger character, and your feet planted more firmly than before.

Because the hard truth is:

You do not need a life without battles to live victoriously. You need a foundation strong enough to stand when the battle comes.
